Landlord-Tenant Mediation and Dispute Resolution

Specializing in Landlord and Tenant Disputes. With Over 30 years of mediation experience, Julie acts as a neutral and impartial referee.

Win-Win for Landlords and Tenants Who Mediate

  • Landlords and Tenants are able to work out an agreement that works them

  • Landlords receive the money they are owed

  • Tenants stay in their homes

  • Landlords avoid paying legal fees

  • Landlords avoid the considerable costs of re-renting the unit

  • Tenants “don’t have an eviction on their record”

How Does Mediation Work

  • Mediation is a voluntary process with the goal of reaching an agreement

  • Mediator acts like a referee providing structure and guidance for a discussion between the parties who have a dispute

  • Parties agree to participate in good faith, listen respectfully and engage in courteous and meaningful discussion in an effort to resolve their issues

  • Mediator is impartial, does not take sides, or render a decision

  • Mediator can provide legal information but cannot provide legal advice

  • Everything discussed in mediation is strictly confidential under Colorado law. Exceptions are when a party or parties agree to share information.

  • Parties ultimately decide how to resolve dispute, and the terms and conditions of agreement

  • Mediator assists the parties in preparing a written agreement

  • A signed agreement/stipulation may be submitted to court by any party for review and is enforceable. However, the Mediator’s notes nor the Mediator can be subpoenaed to appear in court as the process is confidential.

What People Are Saying

“Through mediation, the tenant received hands-on support to help stabilize her situation. At the initial session, Julie Manning, worked to create an action plan.  She provided a detailed list of resources and the tenant was able to secure a range of assistance ultimately allowing her and her family to remain in their home. I just thought mediation made such a difference, and I’m so, so glad that we were able to avoid an eviction.”
